A personal showreel exercise that became something larger — a love letter to the visual grammar of 90s Japanese cinema shot through a hyper-modern lens. The project was born from a month spent in Tokyo, capturing the city's relentless visual energy: neon-drenched alleyways, silent temple grounds at dawn, and the orchestrated chaos of Shibuya crossing.
The edit leans into dissonance — pairing contemplative, slow-burn sequences with jarring smash cuts driven by a custom lo-fi hip-hop score. Color grading walks the line between desaturated film emulation and hyper-saturated digital maximalism. The piece stands as both a technical showcase and a deeply personal visual diary.
